In St. Michael's Church is a plaque to the Burrell family which includes:
also of Henry Duncan Burrell, their eldest son, Lieut. 18th Royal Irish Regt., who died at Alnwick ?31st Sept. 1844 in the 23rd year of his age
also of Graham Burrell, their second son, Lieut. in the Royal Artillery
who died on his voyage to Ceylon 18th March 1847 aged 25 years . . .
