Letter to Hood [Mrs. H.H. Cameron], dated Feb. 26 [no year, possibly 1907?] from Geraldine Thomas, GOH, Colombo mentions: "...we landed this afternoon and Jocelyn met us and told us that Ted had got Hunugalla...." "...Mr. Thomas writes that though it was against his advice, he now thinks Ted did right not to delay his marriage...." "...Jocelyn is engaged to May Agar...."

24 July 1923: Arrives London on the "Herefordshire" from Rangoon, Burma; Mr. J.H. Thomas 54, Mrs Thomas 41, Miss Thomas 13 & Master Henry Thomas 9 (last residence Ceylon) Age 41: probably a trancript error, as it gives a birth year of 1882. Should read 47.

From Christine Moore (Genforum): You mentioned wanting more information on Jocelyn Thomas and his wife, my grandmother was friendly with Maria Agar and her sister at school. She referred to her as Masie and I remember going as a family to visit her, she lived in a flat with her daughter Barbara, in the Worthing Brighton area in the 1950's. On one such visit it transpired that Masie had died and Barbara had moved away, my grandmother was very upset not to have been informed.

Maria married Jocelyn Hume THOMAS, son of Mathew Henry THOMAS and Marianne Theresa SKINNER, on 26 Feb 1908 in St Paul’s Church Kandy Ceylon Sri Lanka. (Jocelyn Hume THOMAS was born on 13 Oct 1868 in Cockermouth, Cumbria, Cumberland, England ², christened on 9 Nov 1868 in Oakfield, Crostwaithe, Cumberland, England ³ and died in Sep 1947 in Hailsham, Sussex, England ⁴.)
