Sir John de Pilkington was born circa 1363.1 He was the son of Sir Roger de Pilkington.2 He married Margaret de Verdon, daughter of Sir John de Verdon, in 1383.1 He died on 16 February 1420/21.1
He was Lord of the Manors of Pilkington, Bury, Cheetham and Crompton.1 He fought in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Nottingham in 1419.1
