General Notes: Robert, Count of Mortain, 2nd Earl of Cornwall (c.?1031– 1090) was a Norman nobleman and the half-brother of William I of England. He was one of the known participants at the Battle of Hastings and the time of the Domesday Book he was one of the greatest landholders in England. Robert married Maud Matilda DE MONTGOMERY, daughter of Roger DE MONTGOMERY Earl of Shrewsbury and Mabel DE BELLÊME. |
