In revenge, Sir Walter's sister, Gylle de Burgh, wife of Sir Richard de Mandeville, planned his assassination. William married Maud (Matilda) OF LANCASTER, daughter of Henry OF LANCASTER 3d Earl of Lancaster and Maud CHAWORTH, in 1327. (Maud (Matilda) OF LANCASTER was born circa 1310, died on 5 May 1377 and was buried in Bruisyard Abbey.) |
