https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Biset-5 Sanders, p.5: Among the lands granted to Manasser Biset were Rockbourn, Nether Burgate, and Shamblehurst, Hants, Kidderminster, Worcs., and Wigwold, Glos. Manasser, who was a household steward of Henry II, d.1177 leaving Henry who came of age in 1187. These lands came to form to the early feudal barony of Biset.
Keats-Rohan, p.177: Son of William Biset and Hawisa, tenants in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire of Stephen count of Aumale, lord of Holderness. [...] He was married to Alice, sister and heiress of Gilbert de Falaise, seigneur of Cany, Seine-Maritime, arr. Yvetot (Chartes Longueville, nos 5, 33), in whose right he held one fee of the honour of Giffard in 1166. His son and heir was Henry Biset, also the name of Manasser's brother. At his death in 1177 Henry was still a minor, coming of age in 1187.
The Bisets were benefactors of Maiden Bradley priory, Wilts. (Monasticon vi, p.644) Victoria History of Wiltshire: Manasser Biset, steward of Henry II, was a landowner in five counties in 1158-9, (fn. 1) and his main interests lay in Hampshire and Wiltshire and at Kidderminster (Worcs.).
Manasser married Alice (Aaliz) DE FALAISE , Dame de Cany about 1156. (Alice (Aaliz) DE FALAISE , Dame de Cany was born in 1135 in Cany, Normandie, France and died in 1200.)
