Major Robert Blackall, of Coolamber, Lisryan, county Longford is recorded as owning over 1800 acres in county Leitrim in the 1870s as well as lands in Westmeath and Longford. In 1874 he advertised over 1800 acres in the barony of Mohill for sale in the Landed Estates Court. The Irish Times reported that 450 acres was sold in trust. He was a grandson of a Robert Blackall who was of Coolamber in the late 18th century and son of Samuel Wensley Blackall, a colonial civil servant, who died Governor of Queensland in 1871. http://www.adb.online.anu.edu.au/biogs/A030164b.htm
