DESCENDENT OF SACKETS HERO DIES

Albany July 6 The death of Miss Mary Cagger, 80, widely known Albanian, and member of a distinguished New York state family, occurred Saturday morning at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Kenwood where she had lived for several years.

Miss Cagger was the daughter of the late Peter Cagger, distinguished lawyer, devout churchman and Albany Democrat, who died several years ago after a carriage accident in Central park, New York city. Miss Caggar's mother was the former Maria Mahar of Albany, daughter of Captain James Mahar, known as "Gallant Captain Mahar" of Sackets Harbor conflict fame, in the war of 1812.

Miss Cagger's mother died when her daughter was young and Mr. Cagger married a second time, his wife being a Miss Cassidy, member of a widely known Albany family whose brother was editor of the Albany Argus. Miss Cagger was educated at the Misses Cassidy's school here and at out of town boarding schools.

Her only survivors are a half brother, William Cagger, now living in Europe; a nephew. Peter Cagger of New York city, and another nephew, Colonel Edward R. Cassidy of Altamont, who has been traveling abroad for several months.
