In 1903, the villages of Popenki and Zozulyany belonged to Emmanuel Ivanovich Goylov [7] . It is known that Ms. Goilova at the same time was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Vykhvatinetsky two-year parish school named after A.G. Rubinstein [18] and on November 14, 1904 she donated 200 rubles to the school. Probably, Emmanuel Goilov died in 1913 and a note was published on this subject in the newspaper Rada of August 24, 1913 [19] :

Recently died Didych our village D. Goilov. He bequeathed to each of the villagers who served him to give out a thousand Karbovanets . At the same time, there was enough bread and in the period of long rains there was good fishing, you could catch sterlet 5 poods. The village, located in a good place, near a forest and rocks with streams, is marked as attractive for life, but poor culturally: residents do not have access to the press.
