  General Notes:

THE "VIA REGINA" FROM ARGEGNO TO MENAGGIO
MENAGGIO: THE MENAGGIO AND CADENABBIA GOLF CLUB: The presence of the English in the Lario area since the 19th century is not only testified by the Anglican Church of Cadenabbia, but also by the early 20th century golf course in the Croce district of Menaggio. Born out of banker Henry John Mylius' passion for the sport (he was its first president), the club was initially a limited nine-hole course. In 1919 the new president, A.W.N. Wyatt, bought new land and so it was possible to expand it to eighteen holes. In the 1960s the then president Antonio Roncoroni had John Harris redesign the area, and in a bid to spread the appeal of golf, organized in the Cadenabbia Golf Club the first National Championship for Cadets and Chicks.
