The first registered owners were the Littons it was thought that they came from Littondale in Yorkshire and moved to Dublin in 1660.

Thomas Litton (1657-1741)

He married Gertrude Verdoen who was from Dutch decent. The property was left to his son.

WDC GenWeb: Thomas Litton, Esq. b. 1657 d. Dec 24 1741 A branch of the Litton or Lytton family of England moved to Ireland. Thomas, of Dublin, used the same arms as the Knebworth branch. His will was dated Dec 16 1741 m. Gertrude Verdoen 1710 [d/o Mr P Verdoen]

Thomas married Gertrude VERDOEN, daughter of P. (Peter) VERDOEN and Unknown, in 1710. (Gertrude VERDOEN was born about 1661 in Ireland ¹.)
