The Wake Green Estate was leased by Francis Willmot in 1858. He subsequently married the owners daughter (Henry Dyott Boulton) and Francis & his wife Mary inherited the estate in 1874 on the death of Henry.
The Willmot family lived in Wake Green House (shown on map)until death of Francis in 1891. The estate was then slowly sold off.
The main part of the estate was bordered by Yardley Wood Rd/Wake Green Rd/Billesley Lane & the edge of the gold couse. It also owned a block of land between Belle Walk/Wake Green Rd/Yardley. w. Rd & this is where the Wake Green Park was built - hence probably use of this name.
