Edward Rhames Courtenay of Drumseck, near Rostrevor, co. Down.
He was a merchant in Newry and a captain in the Armagh Militia.
He was born circa 1773; married as his first wife, at Carmeen (Newry Parish Register), 30 March, 1798, Frances Mary Lang, daughter of James Lang of Carmeen, co. Down, and by her (who died at Cork circa 1799 or 1800, and is buried in the Cemetery of the Cork Convent of Mercy or "The Poor Clares"), he had issue an only child:-


Edward married Frances Mary LANG, daughter of James LANG of Carmeen, co. Down and Unknown, on 30 Mar 1798 in Carmeen, co. Down, Ireland. (Frances Mary LANG was born before 1780 in Carmeen, co. Down, Ireland, died 1799 or 1800 in Cork, co. Cork, Ireland and was buried in Cork Convent of Mercy or "The Poor Clares".)


Edward next married Jane BOYD on 28 Feb 1806 in Newry Parish Chu.1 (Jane BOYD died on 12 Feb 1861 in Dublin (26 Upper 1.)
