Herluin DE CONTEVILLE
General Notes: Herluin de Conteville (1001– 1066), also sometimes listed as Herlevin or Herlwin of Conteville,was the stepfather of William the Conqueror, and the father of Odo of Bayeux and Robert, Count of Mortain, both of whom became prominent during William's reign. Herluin married Herleva FULBERT of Falaise, daughter of Fulbert DE FALAISE and Doda, about 1030. (Herleva FULBERT of Falaise was born about 1003 in Falaise, Calvados, France, died in 1050 and was buried in Abbey of Grestain, Normandy, France.) |
