Obituary: Esther Ramseyer Johnson

Cherished mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep 10 days after celebrating her 100th birthday on Oct. 21, 2002.
Born October 11, 1902 in Salt Lake City, the 8th child of A.A. and Maria Ramseyer. Married Elden A. Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple June 11, 1924. They were parents of three daughters; Marie E. Heaton (Fred), Marian R. Bond (Richard) and Joyce R. Kepas (Demetrios).
She graduated with a two year degree from the U of U in 1921 and later completed a BA degree, Cum Laude, at the age of 58. Taught school in Rose Park and then at Columbus School, retiring at age 66.
Active member of the LDS Church serving in many leadership and teaching positions. She was a great example, touched many lives, dedicated to her family, church and country. Loved reading, traveling, genealogy, music, gardening. Always a gracious lady and warm hostess. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survived by her daughters; 17 grandchildren; 53 great-grand-children; and sister Martha R. Searcy. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings.

Esther married Elden A. JOHNSON on 11 Jun 1924 in Salt Lake City, UT, USA. (Elden A. JOHNSON died before 2002.)
