"My Great Grandfather - William (Elsie and Thomas's father) was from Galashiels. He moved to Oz to run the business and did very well. The Empire was in full swing and he was blessed with an established business in the UK to take care of things at that end. There is a family rumour that he was sent to Oz by his father as he'd done something naughty in the UK - though exactly what it is I have never been told. Clearly he hadn't done something terrible as he ended up in Kensington in his later years (then as now one of the prime areas of London)"
