CLEMENTI
Dione Rose, died peacefully on 5th September at Ashley Park Nursing
Home, Clandon. A dear aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt..— The
eldest of four to Sir Cecil and Lady Clementi, her early years were
spent in Hong Kong and in Holmer Green, Bucks. She gained her MA and
D.Phil. at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. Her wartime career was spent at
the Government Code and Cypher School, Bletchley and in 2009 she was
awarded the Bletchley Park Commemorative Badge. For many years after
the war she lectured in history at Queen Mary College, London. Funeral
Service is at Chilterns Crematorium, near Amersham, HP7 0ND on 23rd
September at 11.30 a.m. Family flowers only, please. All enquiries to

She was the dau of Sir Cecil CLEMENTI GCMG (1875-1947, son of Col
Montagu Clementi, Judge-Advocate-Gen in India), and Marie Penelope
Rose MBE OStJ (1889-1970, dau of Adm Cresswell John EYRE, DSO OBE
(1862-1949), scion of that gentry family of Nuts Court, and Rose
Nankivell (c1863 - died by enemy action 1940, dau of Joseph Phipps
TOWNSEND JP (c1813-88) of Downhills, Tottenham, and Walpole, Norfolk
and Penelope WOOLLAM)
