Mr. Gosselin's brother, the Rev. Nicholas Gosselin, was three times married. The story is that when quite young he saw three little girls playing together and said that when he grew up he meant to marry one of them. He married each in turn. He began with Miss Fox. Probably a sister of the Mr. Fox who married Sarah, the eldest of the Kingstones. Either these Foxes were unpopular, or else they were spoken of with great respect, for nobody refers to them by their christian names. There were two daughters of this marriage, Anne and Elizabeth, who became Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Daly. The Rev. Nicholas married secondly, Jane Kingstone, who had four daughters:-

Sydney, married Henry Courtney of 24, Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin.
Alicia, married Thomas Richardson of Waringstown Demesne, Lurgan and Tyaquin, Co. Galway.
Jane, married Dr. Rawson of Carlow.
Nicolina, married John Greer.
The Rev. Nicholas third wife was Helen Cuppage, but she had no children. He was rector of Tashinny; in one of his letters to Aunt Sidney, Great Grandpapa refers to soup-making there in the Famine time. He died in 1848.

Anglo-Celt Published in Cavan, county Cavan, August 4, 1848 DEATHS:
On the 30th inst., at the Blebe (Sic.), Tashinny, county Longford, in his 71st year, the Rev. Nicholas GOSSELIN, Rector of that Parish.

Another impressive marble tablet in the church commemorates "the Reverend Nicholas Gosselin, late rector and vicar of the united parishes of Tashinny and Abbeyshruel, who died at Tashinny Glebe the 30th July 1848" after a thirteen year incumbency.
