It becomes difficult to sort through the source material at this point as many genealogical records exist about these people and their descendants - not all of it accurate and there is a wide variance in the dates reported. For the most part, I have not been able to check the original sources for this period, and have relied on second hand informaton.
The Greenes of Rhode Island are said to be descended through this couple - and a number of American made pedigrees exist. Most notable among these is: "The Greenes Family and Its Branches - Lora S. Lamance, Mayflower Publishing Co., Floral Park, New York, 1904". This is reputed to be a very inaccurate source, but unfortunately it has been widely used and has formed the basis of many of the pedigrees existing in common circulation.
Other sources include "The Greenes of Rhode Island with Historical Records of England - Ancestors of Louise Brownwell Clarke, Knickerbocker Press, NY, 1903, and the pedigree compiled on the Greene/Green family by Gaylord Green (volume 13).
A computerized version of the Greene pedigree exists by Gary Green. This is a useful source, but some entries are duplicated and/or misplaced - couples appearing twice,notably Thomas Greene and Mary Talbot, with different parents and incorrect dates.
I have included what information I was able to piece together - I freely admit there may be problems regarding accuracy. The lineage from Thomas down to John Greene (the Surgeon) and beyond I took from secondary American sources, communications with other researchers and Morman Records. Primary sources have not been consulted unless cited.
