1 - Carbri Riada (Carbri of the Liffey), who, when there was a famine in the South, led his people to the extreme Northeast of Ireland, and some of them across to the nearest part of Scotland, where they settled, forming the first important colony of Scots (Irish) in the Alba. The Irish territory which Carbri Riada's people settled, the Northeast of Antrim, and the territory opposite to it in Alba, became known as the two Dal Riada.
