Hermann Ier de Saxe1 (né vers 905/910, mort le 27 mars 973), fondateur de la dynastie saxonne de Billung, est le fils d'un comte d'Ostphalie nommé Billung (mort en 967) et de son épouse inconnue selon la Chronica Principum Saxoniæ. Il a deux frères, Wichmann Ier dit l'Ancien (mort en 944), comte de Bardengau, et Amelung, évêque de Verden († 962).
