Ralph SNEYDE
- Marriage (1): Mary CHETWYND
- Died: Abt 1614
General Notes:
RALPH SNEYDE, of Keele, etc. High Sheriff of Staffordshire twice in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. He inherited the estates in 1571 and decided to move the main seat from Bradwell in Wolstanton to Keele. Ralph married twice, but had issue only by his first wife, who was Mary, daughter of Thomas Chetwynd of Ingestre, and so the daughter of Ralph's step-mother by her first marriage. His second marriage was to Mary, the daughter of Sir Richard Newport, of High Ercall, Shropshire.
The marriage of Ralph Sneyde and Mary Chetwynd appears in the ancestry of HM The Queen, from the marriage of their daughter, Ann, to Sir Thomas Skrymshire, and subsequent descents. Ralph died in 1614/15, and was succeeded by his eldest son. 1
Ralph married Mary CHETWYND.
