Joseph Graham who accompanied his mother Sarah to India on 26 June 1829[7] (perhaps on the Lady Nugent) was born at Ramsgate, Kent, in 1828. He studied the Law and, becoming a QC, was Advocate General of Bengal. In about 1856 Joseph married Elizabeth, daughter of General John R Coryton and had 3 sons.
