William Coryton Graham, born at Agra on 10 September 1857 and baptised at Fort William on 19 October[8], was educated at Eton before going up to Trinity College, Cambridge and called to the Bar by Lincolns Inn in 1880. He served for a time on the Pall Mall Gazette and continued his journalistic interests in India by becoming owner of the Indian Daily News while building up a large practice at the Bar. Despite being recommended to a judgeship more than once, he chose the path of commerce as Director of the Bengal Coal Company and other concerns[9]. In 1893 he married Kate Emily Robertson and died at Calcutta on 17 January 1931 aged about 74 years. Kate died on 2 October of that same year.

Graham, William Coryton, under- grad. Trin. Coll., Camb., goes the Western circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 19 Jan., 1877 (then aged 20), called to the bar 21 April, 1880 (eldest son of Joseph Graham, Q.C., sometime advocate-general Bengal) ; born , 1857.

A prominent barrister in Calcutta, and at one time proprietor of the Indian Daily News. More than once recommended for a Judgeship. Director of the Bengal Coal Company and other commercial concerns. William married Kate Emily ROBERTSON, daughter of Joseph Stanton ROBERTSON and Maria BROADHURST, in 1893 in Bengal, India. (Kate Emily ROBERTSON was born on 8 Dec 1870 in Kidderpore, Calcutta, West Bengal, India, christened on 8 Jan 1871 in Kidderpore, Calcutta, West Bengal, India and died on 2 Oct 1931 in India.)
