Augusta Warren DAUNT 2
General Notes: Those who had served the British Empire in India are well represented. Many are military, but there are civilians too. James Cox, of Thirlestaine Hall, and George Nevile Wyatt, buried in adjacent plots, had both made their fortunes as indigo planters. The widow of the latter, Mrs Augusta Wyatt, was patron of both the Leckhampton churches at the beginning of the 20th century. Augusta married George Nevile WYATT, son of George Nevile WYATT and Mary Jane MUSTON, on 22 Aug 1848 in Dinapore, Bengal, India.1 (George Nevile WYATT was born on 31 Oct 1817 in Contie Province, West Bengal, India, christened on 10 Oct 1818 in Contie Province, West Bengal, India, died on 4 Sep 1891 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England 3 and was buried in St. Peter's Church, Leckhampton, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.) |
